Wine can bring huge fun, pleasure and good taste to your life – isn’t it time you stocked up?

If you don’t have wine racks in your home, traditional wood and metal wine wrackscontemporary wrought-iron wine racks - any kind of wine wracks – then you’re missing out on a whole world of taste and pleasure. Wine is the nectar of the Gods. If you collect wines, you will undoubtedly feature a wine rack in your home. But even if you just enjoy drinking everyday wines, wine racks allow you to store bottles in an optimum and aesthetic way. And a quick glance will tell you if it’s time to stock up!

Stock up your wine racks!

By ensuring you have a wide selection of wine in stock, you’ll always have the right wine for the right occasion. And if you feel guilty about being so indulgent about keeping your wine racks stocked up, remember there are countless reports on the health benefits of wine. Red wine in small qualities has been known for some time to be good for us thanks to its antioxidants. And now there’s even more good news for those who enjoy the grape over the grain. Researchers have come forward saying that champagne is good for the heart and for the brain. What’s more, it’s fun!

Crack out the Champers

If you need to find some justification to complement your wine racks with a few bottles of champers, then this piece of research is just the ticket. Researchers at Reading University found that champagne has the same health benefits found in red wine thanks to the polyphenol antioxidants. These antioxidants are thought to reduce the impact of free radicals as well as lowering blood pressure thus reducing the risk of strokes or heart problems. The researchers told the press: “We have found that a couple of glasses a day has a beneficial effect on the walls of blood vessels …It is very exciting news.”

Wine Racks – A Healthy Investment

It isn’t just champagne that can have this benefit – hot cocoa can also have a similar effect thanks to the antioxidants found in cocoa beans – but the researchers say, cocoa “doesn’t seem as much fun” as champagne. If you prefer white wine over red, the antioxidants are absent in white wines; so you may want to swap your white wine bottles for champagne bottles on your wine rack! Champagne may be white in colour and taste but it contains both red and white grapes – pinot noir, pinot meunier and chardonnay. And if you can’t afford the top-end champagne, the researchers say cheaper alternatives such as cava also contain the antioxidants.
